Acyclovir is used for the treatment of viral infections such as herpes labialis, shingles, and chickenpox. It may be prescribed for other diseases as long as they are treated in good accordance with the current treatment guidelines.
In Australia, the usual dose of acyclovir is 2 gm for adults and 1 gm for children. However, in some countries, acyclovir may be prescribed for longer periods. The recommended daily dose of acyclovir in adults is 5 gm, not more than once per day. How to use Zovirax Cream
